Question about learning Java for college

For all you IT graduates does anybody know a good process for learning Java in college which will also help you pass the chapter tests? Starting our Java class the professor read through the syllabus the first day then dismissed everybody saying it was an online class. I do believe if I discover an effective process to learn the programming language, the chapter test will easily be passed.

Took java in college. Did okay, didn't like it. Reading the book and actually practicing it and experimenting with it is the only real way to learn it. But, I hated it and hardly did either.

    What book are you using?
You might want to look into getting supplemental study material if the book you currently have isn't quite working for you, however that would make your time of investment much higher.

I tried the same but i didn't like it anyways. Does not mean it's not a good way to learn. If you start with this it's great

The best way I have learn Java was read tutorials and do the projects. Then I would modify the projects to do more and that is how I learned.

Slightly off topic, how much are you paying for the course? I would not be ok with an in person professor being heres the syllabus have fun unless it was a 120 dollar comm college course.
