Hi Guys,
Hope everyone is well,
I have a question in regards with WSUS group policy settings we are in the process of implementing wsus in our organization and are trying to achieve the following behaviour when wsus updates patches are approved.

1.Windows 7 recognises the new availabe patch from WSUS
2.Downloads the patch
3.Installs it at certain time
4.Restarts the machine

I have found number 3 policy but the overall behaviour doesnt work.
Thank you.

Not each update will restart your machines. Sometimes an update can be applied that does not require a reboot.

Exactly... OP - are you asking if you can force the machine to reboot no matter what update it receives and installs?

What server OS? I found WSUS 3.0 to be very misbehaving for windows 7 and 8 but worked great on XP. WSUS 4.0 (included in 2012) works flawlessly on 7 and 8.1 but I still think the wsus system is a much more complex then it has to be.
