2015 updates in the Linux+ 102 exam?

DribbleCastleDribbleCastle Member Posts: 16 ■□□□□□□□□□
I'm sitting for my Linux+ 102 on Thursday (Feb 12) of this week. I was wondering if anyone knows for sure if the 2015 topics are on the exam as of February? I took the 101 on the January 20th and don't recall the 2015 subjects on that exam.

If you go to COMPTIA's site for the Linux+ there is no mention of the updates and if you click the see what the exam covers link you get a PDF that does not list the new topics.

I know people will say just learn the new stuff, because it will be helpful anyway. I have watched the videos I just need to know where to focus my time. I have plenty of things to memorize and if I could cut some of 2015 topics off my list that would make things a lot easier in my effort to pass. Btw, 2015 topics are things like LightDM, syslog-ng, jornalctl etc.

Thanks in advance for any info.

They aren't. The 2015 version will have a new exam numbering scheme.

Thank you for the reply. That confirms what I've heard thus far.

I asked the same question on the Linux Academy forums one of the instructors said the 2015 materials won't be on an exam until March, at that point they will have 2 separate exams for up to 6 months after that. I've emailed COMPTIA as well to get the official answer but feel pretty good about the answer Linux Academy provided, I'll post anything I hear from COMPTIA.

The info they sent out said you could choose what version you wanted to take after the new year but I only see the old versions available. For what it's worth, examcompass has this info:
    • CompTIA Linux+ (powered by LPI). Exam codes: LX0-101 and LX0-102. Exam Retirement date: N/A.

Got a reply from COMPTIA support on a ticket I opened. They said the following.

The CompTIA Linux+LPI exams will not have the 2015 objectives on the exam until March 30, 2015.
