Most valued certifications to maximize your worth. Your opinion?

Recently I was looking at job applications and I see they seem to want a variety of skills. Just being a CCNP or just an MCSE does not fit the roles many companies are looking for.

If you could realistically package a certification bundle to cover what most businesses are looking for what would this include?

I was going to continue down the cisco path for a CCNP but I'm not sure this is the best move now. Where I work now they call this a one trick pony. I understand diversity in skills are important. What are your opinions?

My advise is to earn certifications for technologies that you actually want to learn. If you try and get certifications just fill an employer wishlist, you be lucky if you make past chapter 1 of the first book. Then make your resume so that jobs fit you and not the other way around.
Now to answer you question, any expert certification will maximize your worth. -

I have not found an IT subject that is dull yet. Call me a true geek I guess.

I you are highly skilled in one area you are specialised. If you work in many different areas you can be called a 'Jack of all trades'. I think specialising is the best way to go. -

Do what interests you.
I did my CCNP and don't regret it at all. I honestly don't use 50% of it but have me the idea and skills to start looking how to optimize our network.
Then from there started learning what interests me. Juniper. Linux. Python. It all works together in some fashion.
