FreeIPA

Anyone use FreeIPA before? DNS and NTP I already have setup, but it seems to simplify LDAP pretty well which will help with securing my Hadoop deployment. Just hoping to get some thoughts!

Hey unrelated but I just applied for the MS ACS at DSU and will be working through this in order to apply to the DSc Cyber Security

philz1982 - excellent!!! If you don't mind my asking, why not just apply for the DSc directly? They award the MSACS along the way anyhow. My boss is currently in the DSc and is really enjoying it.

I was told b/c I have a Business Degree and do not have a CS Undergrad or Masters that I will need to get my CS Masters first. I am working on doing a parallel path where I do the ACS and then part of the way through switch into the DSc. Kind of like a 4+1 degree plan.

I've used IPA at my last two $jobs. It's unpolished, but works really well. We are actually in process of setting up another IPA instance for use with our Hadoop cluster, currently.
Work in progress: picking up Postgres, elastisearch, redis, Cloudera, & AWS.
Next up: eventually the RHCE and to start blogging again.
