I think the $10 is just them sucking at posting on careerbuilder. The pdf listing on their site (siuins.com) doesn't mention salary, it's probably something more realistic.. like 30k salary :P

    Chitownjedi hit it.

If you take this job I dislike you. You are directly responsible for lowering the wages of IT.

I had a company offer me 23 for a security analyst position. I asked "an hour" they said "a year" I said "Good-Bye". Of course it was one of those Indian staffing companies that called.

They left out the 50k sign on bonus and 40k pay stipend every year.

This isn't a typo I use to see these positions out there all the time. A sucker is born every minute and they know that.

My first office job out of high school, at the age of 19, in 2001, with zero office experience paid $10/hr. I seriously hope that is a typo. And I agree with N2IT, I hope no one would actually take that job at that salary if it isn't a mistake.

If this isn't a typo, the answer will most likely be a lie. Been there...

Maybe there's a clause in there where you get free housing, free utilities, a company car with a gas card, and free groceries on top of the $10 an hour. Would be a nice advertising point though... :D

Those 50 applicants with 10 years of experience probably have 10 years of experience doing help desk or tech support in a call center and liberal arts bachelors degrees. Of course the job posting itself is still ridiculous and they'll never be able to find and keep talent and that pay rate.

My first IT job paid 5.15 p/hr
Where I come from (pretty bad shape right now) pays around 7-10 for SD/NOC positions.
But I've never seen an admin for 10 bucks.

That's depressing. I'm trying to get INTO a jr. admin or NOC position and my family would starve... Hoping that HOTLanta can come up with a better rate then those!
