Whats your Opinion? HELP!

CessationCessation Member Posts: 326
I have a stable job where I live... only problem is that I barely make enough to rent an "ok" appartment.

Now I found a job where I could work what I want to be doing as an IT Administrator.
Only problem is that It is #1 in a different state. (which I dont mind cause living costs are way different over there)
As well as the fact that I only have 6 months as a Jr admin.
I beleive with a bit of patience I could do everything required of me and most likely much more.
This job would give me more money and put me where I want to be but I almost feel as though I may not be ready yet but I do ultimatly want this position and dont want to let go of something which could turn out to be the best (or possibly worst) decision ever.

HELP!!!

    1. can you match at least half of the job requirements?
    2. what is the job market like in that are you would be moving to
    3. cost of living in that area
    4. have you exhausted looking in your current area
    5. will the new company pay or help with the relocation?

    2. Job market is probably scarse
    3. Cost of living is low Utah
    4. For the work I do I believe I am pretty much as high as I can get
    5. Not sure

Don't accept a job that you're not qualified for. By qualified I mean that you should be able to perform 80% of the tasks listed for the job. No employer wants to teach you how to do a job from scratch. The only reason they train you is to show you how they specifically do stuff. But you should have a good idea of how the task is done or you will look bad or even worse you will be let go shortly.

Future: Probably continued Red Hat Immersion, Possibly VCAP Design, or maybe a completely different path. Depends on job demands...
