Verizon DSL Question?

okay, here's the brief situation:

Upgraded from

768kbps/128kbps

to

3mbps/768kbps.

Just one thing, how do I verify that I'm really getting this speed? I already have my DSL installed, etc. Do they just flick a switch at the Central Office and give me more bandwidth? Can I verify the speed with some kind of modem command, etc.? Thanks again guys.

Nice link, I just checked it out and it's at 687kbps steady, if I don't get above that or anywhere near 3.0 kbps by tomorrow then I'll give Verizon a call. Their tech support couldn't tell me what you told me, that's amazing!

It's always nice to do a before and after test like that to find out how much you are truly getting for the price difference.

Not a problem, you probably mean 3Mbps right? heh....

687kbps for a 768DSL connection sounds reasonable. About your upgrade, when did you switch? Perhaps they wont up your speed until the next billing cycle? When I upgraded from 3Mbps to 6Mbps (hehe)

I had to wait until the next month because of the 30day billing cycle.
