Solaris 10

Anyone using Solaris 10 on non-sun hardware ?. I've have downloaded the whole thing, but no supported hardware icon_sad.gif

    I tried the OpenSolaris for Intel hardware. Didn't much care for it. CentOS/Fedora are more to my liking for Linux, and FreeBSD for Unix.

    well, i have OpenSolaris too, it isn't supported on the hardware i have icon_sad.gif . may be i should wait for PPC version.

    My idea is to get Sun certification..... so better get hands on Sun Solaris.

    I've used Solaris 10 on x86 hardware successfully. I had the same thought, wanted to get SCSA certified. Solaris can be. . . err. . . "finicky", to say the least.

    I used VMWare to run Solaris x86 and it worked great!

    you mean x86 hardware support or the OS itself ?.

    I paid $$ for the version 4. Now version 5 is out and they don't even have an upgrade for it. You have to pay full money again.

    I dont' endorse illegal activity, but I should just use some assembly tool to skip the regstration check.
