Just be aware Boson's ICND2 tests aren't very representative of the real test, like it was with ICND1. I'm kind of surprised you are spending the money on the same material you'd get at WGU. Do you have a plan with that?
Took the year off from WGU, they wanted me to take certifcations in a certain way and I wanted to do them myself at my own pace. Once I get done with the CCNA: R&S and Security I'll join back up again. -

I plan on hitting to the ExSim this weekend after reading the chapters in Todd's book for ICDN2. Ordered Odom's ICDN2 book as Techfiend above recommended off Amazon yesterday. -

Just read Chapter 16 on tftp/flash backup/recovery processes and licensing. I spent so much time with tftp with my home-lab last month I learned nothing from that chapter. I basically came across it at my last job on resetting a cisco production router's password a few customer sites and the command(s) were sunk into my skull.
Just had no idea I'd be covering it in the ICDN2. That chapter took me 10 minutes to read cause I literally have those command saved to my skull like subnetting.

I'll do my best. Learning has been a life struggle and now I love IT, so as strange as it may sound doing this kind of studying is relaxing to me. It's rewarding once I see the 'you passed' on the exam printout. I know filling my mind with more stuff, relaxing! - This guy must be on crack...

ICDN2 book arrived, thanks Techfiend. Finishing Chapter 7 in Storage + book then back to reading chapter one of RSTP again in this new book.

Congrats! It was fun reading along and I'm glad you slayed the dragon. Read up on RSTP because I missed it somehow (read Odom and Lammle) and I barely passed INCD2. I believe it's in the updated material online for the INCD2 OCG. Let me know if you want to bounce any ideas or questions around.

This week caught up to me in regard to the level of brain power and will I mustered to keep studying for the whole month as all of this week I've only read 5 chapters in the ICDN2 book. Tuesday and Wednesday I literally tanked when I got home at 5pm and slept until 6am both days. I think my mental fatigue from that insane studying took it's toll on me.
This weekend though I hope to pop out another 5 more chapters, I'm also up to chapter 10 in the Storage + book; which is actually easier to read and digest. -

I concur, it is much easier to read. I think it's also easier cause of the framework from the ICDN1 part of the exam. Now that I know the core concepts helps me better understand these new concepts that basically expand on the core information.
My issue is I want the Storage + but with it's retirement in 4 months I sort of need to press onward with that book and read lightly in ICDN2 to keep it refreshed in my mind. This weekend is Cisco study and next week is Storage + study during the week. -

Thoughts:
The other two 2821's and two 3750G's arrive sometime next week. I'm thinking of getting a 1G SFP WIC for the CORE 2821.
Logic:
Core 2821 is primary router, root bridge, edge router. WAN network design is probably CCNP level so no need to explore that concept quite yet but I could use a 1721 with a Serial interface for a MLPS WAN to mimics a ISP later on down the road. I'm sure some may see the solo 2821 as the core router as a SPOF, but it just a home-lab. Maybe once it's all said and done conceptually I'll figure out how to make like a VRRP router configuration for two 2821's using the same virtual IP. I remember using VRRP for twin Adtrans at my last job, so I'm sure I'll learn VRRP at some point.
For now my logic is a Core, Distro, Access layer.
Core:
2821 at the top of the core, each other gigabit connections go to a 2821 in the tree below it that will have a serial OSPF bridge for path redundancy, explicit deny ACL blocking all internal vLAN's except one for a Windows updates and DNS resolution vlan for the DNS servers on the ESXi cluster. Each of the 2821's below the core-2821 go to a 3750G switch.
Distro:
Each 3750G switch is a Distribution switch with, now, a (4) gigabit Cat5e 1ft ether-channel interconnect. Logic is fast as possible inter-vlan routing between the 3750's that each have 4 vLAN's each, Extended ACL's at this level. Each 3750G have a 3750G connected to them as a L2 switch (basically IP routing turned off) that has Port Security enabled.
Access:
I currently have my VMware ESXi host(s) having 4 cables going to each L2 switch (which are 3550's right now, once the two other 3750G arrive that will be upgrade to gigabit), 1 hot/1 standby, per vLAN. I have 8 Nic's per ESXi 5.5 Dell R610. 4 are for the 2 vlans for both of my Windows Server 2008 R2 forests, 2 are for iSCSI/svMotion, 2 is for vMotion/Management. Both of the 3750G at the access layer will have 3 gigabit trunks in a etherchannel connection to the L3 3750G above it, with a twin etherchannel connected to the opposite 3750G L3 is in a blocked RSTP state, in the hypothetical state of a link failure but in a home-lab probably unlikely but I'm making this lab as close to the real deal as possible. If i had unlimited resources I'd have another Quad Nic Card in the R610's and running a 2nd 3750G at the access layer in a HA stack with redundant links to prepare for a total switch failure with a completely configured hot-spare.
In typical Trevor studying fashion all of the switches/router are configure with all ICDN1 content configured on them and as I learn more and more with ICDN2 they will be added to the configuration. on the back of my mind, I may order two more Serial WIC's for the 2821's and use my 2600's and two other 3550's and three 2950's for 2 more completely 'remote' OSPF area's for a Multi-OSPF design. The above area 0 would be like a 'corporate' network with the 2600's mimicking a remote office location representing a different OSPF area connecting into the 'corporate' VMware cluster for Terminal Services that I could enable purely for conceptual testing purposes.
I'm sure some of you think I'm absolutely nuts but can many of you except anything less of me? .. there is a benefit to have my feet in 3 different trades: Microsoft, Cisco, VMware. I don't want to be narrow-minded to just one vendor. -

you might want to change your config register to 0x2102, so your startup config is read at boot.
doesn't look like the wic 1enet or the wic 4esw cards are supported on the 2821. -

Good Catch on the config register, didn't even look at that. Ya some of the wic's aren't supported after all, no worries I just need serial and 1G SPF support. One of the 2821's will be have a SPF connection to one of the 2821's since I really need 3 gigabit connections, one going to WAN (Sonicwall) and the other two going to the 2821's below it that each connect to the distro 3750G's. The two lower 2821's have a Serial WIC for path redundancy and distro 3750G's will have 4 bonded 'ether-channel' connections between each other for inter-vlan routing.
I know kind of a overkill home-lab but going as close to a real deal as possible. ... I'm sure if I make it all nice with punchdown and cable management if I take a picture of it and bring it to a interview I can support my resume with a high-end working home-lab, if they question my lingo speaking. 
The only traffic that will even hit the 2821's is WAN traffic requests, all of the local LAN routing is done at the distro layer.What switches/router models do you have in your lab?

5) 4 x Cisco 3750G-24-TS - 2 here, two on order, arrival Wednesday.
6) 2 x Cisco 3550G - currently being used on the 2600's - will be each apart of OSPF area 1 and 2.
7) 2 x Cisco 2600 router - both have four Serial Wic's each - two are for path redundancy and the other two each go to the Core 2821 - these will be the routers for the remote networks of OSPF Area 1 and 2.
4 x Cisco 2950's.
9) QNAP TS-420 4 bay Raid 5 6 TB NAS w/ iSCSI.
10) 1 x Dell Optiplex 7010 with a i7 @ 2.93 Ghz with 16 GB's of RAM RAID 1 vCenter 5.5 Appliance, twin Broadcom Quad Nic's.
11) 3 x Dell R610's with 32 GB's of RAM each, Dual Xeon's, 16 core each, twin Quad Gigabit nics, twin redundant power Supplies.
12) twin-phased power connection to a APC UPS with 22 minutes of runtime for all of my hardware turned on.
13) Skeletek 24U rack - need to expand it now, only got 1U left.
14 ) VMUG Advantage ESXi vSphere 5.5 with Operations Management Enterprise Plus for 6 sockets. -

I had this one job interview where the guy showed me around the entire building. After a few times of him explaining the job I was applying for (to people that work full-time in the building no less) everyone just agreed to call us all Supernerds.
