Lab questions

I was able to pass the CCNA without purchasing equipment but that's not gonna happen on the CCNP.

1) Are 3750 stackwise capable switches necessary? I read some threads on here where people state 2950's are capable of stackwise yet the CCNP switch OCG says 3750-E, 3750-X, and 3850 are capable of stackwise.

Equipment I am considering:

- (2) 3750's
- (2) 2960's
- (2) 2811 routers
- (2) 1841 routers

I used CertificationKits to help me get an idea. Thoughts? Recommendations?

2950 are not capable of stackwise.

I personally am using (2) 3560 and (2) 2960G. To my knowledge, StackWise is the only thing I can't do with this setup as it relates to CCNP.

Correct, the 3750 does however support StackWise, so if you have extra money - Buy this.

    3750 vs. 3560

3560 -- Good through CCIE if you get the TS models, No Stackwise
3750 -- Good through CCNP, Stackwise

It is a tradeoff. Technically, per the exam topics, Stackwise is only "describe" and not "configure", so you don't really need to lab it up, just know how it works and how it interoperates with things such as Etherchannel (Cross-Stack Etherchannel). You don't have to use TS model 3750s to do Stackwise. I stacked a 3750G-12S ($34.99) and a 3750-24FS ($57.52) that I scored cheap on eBay.
