Does CCNP level exam recertify CCNA?

in CCNA & CCENT
So I have CCENT and CCNA both expired at 2013. Will taking CCNP Route, Switch or TSHOOT renew CCNA and CCENT or do I need to re-take ICND2?

    Passing a CCNP exam renews all your CCNP and CCNA certifications.

    This was taken from Ciscos website. You will have to take the CCNA again before you can take any CCNP.

    both d4nz1g and james43026 are correct.

    If you had a current CCNA, then you could renew it with CCNP. But since your CCNA is expired, you need to start again ie do ICDN1 + ICDN2 again.

    "Renewal requires certification holders to register for and pass the appropriate Cisco recertification exam(s). In order to recertify, exam requirements must be met prior to the certification expiration date. Individuals with an expired certification(s) must repeat the entire certification exam process in order to regain their certification(s).
