Hey everyone im back posting again after extensive studying for my CCDA cert. I have a few questions for anyone high up in the cisco area or anyone that can answer this....

What is checkpoint firewall and cisco PIX, how can i learn about and become certified in these areas, i am not familar in the specialist areas so anyone to help clarify would be great. I just need to know how many exams to get solid understanding in both

Checkpoint firewall is software from Checkpoint that appears standalone on PC's, on Nokia firewalls and on Nortel routers amongst others.

PIX is Cisco's own technology, from an aquisition. Both are very effective. Big difference is that PIX is a packet filter ONLY.

The current Cisco Pix Firewall Specialist is 2 exams:
642-501 SECUR - Securing Cisco IOS Networks
642-521 CSPFA - Cisco Secure PIX Firewall Advanced
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/learning/le3/le2/le41/le56/learning_certification_type_home.html

These two exams are part of Cisco's CCSP certification. http://www.cisco.com/en/US/learning/le3/le2/le37/le54/learning_certification_type_home.html

Just because an cert starts with a CC does not mean it is a cisco certification. CC can stand for Checkpoint Certified or Citrix Certified. In this case it stand for Checkpoint Certified Security Administrator and Checkpoint Certified Security Expert.
