Certification goals for 2016

MrAgentMrAgent Member Posts: 1,310 ■■■■■■■■□□
Its that time of year again. I didn't see a thread created, so I figured I would go ahead and get one started.

Link to 2015 thread
http://www.techexams.net/forums/general-certification/105551-certifications-goals-2015-a.html

I've decided I don't know enough about networking and I want to also improve my overall security knowledge.
So I think I am going to work on CCENT/CCNA as well as the CISSP.

What's everyone else's goals for 2016?

If I don't have the chance to take the CCNA this year with chaotic December filled with finals and the holidays my list for 2016 goes like this:

    CCNA
    CEH
    CISSP
    CISM
I am a Jack of all trades, Master of None

Figured I'd go down the rabbit hole at the end of the audit path this year.

GIAC Systems and Network Auditor (GSNA)

ISACA Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)

So far I'm only committed to EnCe by March. My yearly SANS cert may be GMON, GCFA, or GCIA. I just missed an on-site training and examination my employer had for CCSP so if that comes up in 2016 I will also add it to my list.

CCNA (don't care, but it's a part of WGU BS program and I'm that dumb as I don't have a BS in my 40s), MCSE:Private Cloud (2 exams left), CCSP (ISC2). Maybe ISSEP and GREM (the only GIAC cert I care about) if I manage...
  • jasonperry10jasonperry10 Member Posts: 60 ■■■□□□□□□□
    CEH
    CCNA
    LINUX+
    probably in that order.

    The plan:
    CCNP:R&S
    CCNP:Security

However this could change as I always keep myself open to job changes in between certifications...just in case.

I don't have too many certification goals or plans. My main career goal is starting my M.S. Information Technology - Management degree and hopefully finishing it within a year or a strong majority of it. If time permits maybe look into ITIL/PMP or Microsoft certs again possibly. icon_lol.gif

Linux+ then CEH I would be happy with in 2016.
  • IaHawkIaHawk Member Posts: 188 ■■■□□□□□□□
    CISSP - Feb/Mar
    GCIH - July/Aug
    ???? - Nov/Dec

I may take a break after the GCIH but I would like to strengthen my Linux and programming/scripting skills (python). I don't think I need a certification for this, just an area I would like to improve on.
