Im going to start at WGU in August and I was looking at maybe doing a couple certs before I start...so I was thinking maybe one of the easier ones. Ive heard the CIW certs were decently easy compared to the others.

With no programming background at all..do you think I could learn the material within 2-4 weeks?

Yes I finished the class in 4 weeks but if I wasn't waiting for the new exam study material to come out it would be easily doable in two or three.

However, I would advise against doing the javascript first and waiting to do it. The practice exam material WGU provides is surprisingly excellent and basically is the test. I know a guy at WGU worked on the new javascript exam and I think he created the practice assessment content as well.

The Comptia exams are expensive to take out of pocket but what I did was pre-study the material like for security+ I took the passed the test right after starting.

You'll be prepared early and ready to knock the tests out without having the pay extra exam fees when WGU tuition covers the costs anyway.

thanks for your detailed answer. I will probably wait till I start WGU before I take the test but I'll go ahead and start studying for the exam. I'll be using preplogic for the next month, so I want to make sure I use it's full value.
