Help with Port Security

I have another question. How come my ethernet adapter is static when it should be dynamic because i created an ip address for that ethernet adapter. Is there something i did wrong. I created an ip address which was 192.168.1.10 subnet 255.255.255.0. I am trying to follow a lab online. Sorry for double post.

From the information below, I will assume that this is from some sort of a switch. By the question title, I will also assume that you issued port-security in this switch. If the interface you are talking about is 1 4016.7e77.215e STATIC Fa0/9 and what I have assumed is correct then the answer is the following:

Any MAC addresses associated with port security on which the command is enabled it will show up as static MAC addresses.

Thank you very much, so if i configure port 0/8 than it will have a static mac addresses! Do you have an email?

If you enable port security in f0/8 that should be a static mac address.

Would it change if i put it on a different port so i can make it dynamic?

Why are you trying to make it dynamic ?

i looked on a youtube video and i noticed in his setup for some reason his mac address was dynamic, and compared to mines it was static.

The static part is the switch itself. (see the CPU info?) The dynamic is the learned mac addresses of the host or other switch connected to you.. Then the one static is what you configured on that specific port (FA0/9)
