Hello guys,
i have a question on the practice test that is driving me crazy.

You have a server that runs Windows Server 2012 R2. You have an offline image named Windows2012.vhd
that contains an installation of Windows Server 2012 R2.
You plan to apply several updates to Windows2012.vhd. You need to mount Wmdows2012.vhd to H:\Mount.
Which tool should you use?

A. Mountvol
B. Server Manager
C. Diskpart
D. Device Manager

Now the test indicates A as right answer, but why ? Why not diskpart ? they all do the same things, just Mountvol is less instructions.

Can you help me understand ?

Thanks,
David

The Microsoft exams look at best option or least admin efforts. So if one option is easier or doesn't require as many steps then that's the answer they're going to be looking for.

Mountvol does no seem to have any switches for loading a VHD file so I would say on the first one it would be diskpart. DISM would be correct for the second one.

Agreed. Don't use ****. They are inaccurate, besides the cheating aspect of it all.
