I concur with ssnyderu2. I decided to do the A+, Network+, and Security+ to lay a solid working foundation. The CompTIA certs recently helped me land a decent gig in advanced tech support with an ISP. I wouldn't pay for formalized training on a Comptia exam. The Net+ and Sec+ are basically dictionary exams. No reason you cant study and pass with a couple $20 books and as Kenrin said, free professor messer videos. There are a ton of free materials out there for Comptia exams. -

Watch Professor Messer A+ Free Youtube Video's and do a lot of Practice Tests in Learn Mode, Exam Cram is a great book I used and comes with hundreds of Practice Questions. Don't focus so much on memorizing everything, but understand how computers work instead, and you will pass. Print out the A+ Comptia Exam Objectives… -
