Re: 220-901 Am I Not Getting IT?
This has always made me chuckle. There is some material in the exam that I either never used in my career, or wouldn't have gotten in the first 1 year. In some companies, it is rare a person with a year of experience would get to get near a router, server, or mess with RAID. I'm not saying it isn't valuable to know this… -
Re: Crappiest Exam I'm Going to Take CEHv9
I agree with your mentality. I guess I'm just disappointed with how they are changing things compared to the "real" world. I'm all for the exam being more than tools but when it comes to the right way to do it, CEH isn't the standard. That's the problem. They talk like they're experts and if you follow their methodology… -
Re: The current state of IT today
I totally agree but in my opinion it has blurred even more nowadays. I'm constantly having to fork out money to the likes of Microsoft or CompTIA to keep my skillset current. I know that has always been the case, but employers seem to be offering lesser salaries as a result of this. For example, i've seen some first line… -
Re: Studying from multiple sources
Using multiple sources has worked great for me. Sure, you might get some of the same material 2-3 times, but you're also getting multiple points of view. Some authors cover subjects in greater detail. When approaching certification exams, it's always good to know more than you think you need, just to be safe. But also, the… -
Re: LPI vs LFCS
To add to what Verities said, the LFCS also offers a free retake in case you didn't pass the first time. To obtain the LPIC-1, you must pass a written exam. However, LFCS is in a performance-based format, which you'd perform the actual task on a server provided to you just like the RHCSA/RHCE exam. If you look at the first… -
Re: outdated study material
Ummmm no don't use those materials from 2001 you will most likely fail! If you are on a really tight budget, you could get by with a N10-005 book and fill in the gaps of the new updated objectives. But in reality, you can go on Amazon and get yourself an ExamCram Network+ N10-006 book for like $25-30 bucks. Here is the… -

Re: CHFI before CEH? (WGU MSISA)
So, honestly... I would go through the CEH first because it will require more studying to pass the test. The material in the CEH courseware will align more with the exam, whereas the courseware for CHFI did not align a whole lot with the test. If you have, say, the CompTIA triad and CEH, then the CHFI will be an easy pass.… -
Re: T Minus 30 Days Till RHCSA
That's what exactly happened to me. I planned on having enough time to study and take the exam for RHEL6, however I was forced to retake Security+ by CompTIA because they said my exam from 2010 wasn't valid (a non-profit that only wants to make profit). Also I had to do a bunch of outdated Linux CBTs for work. The goal…
