ITIL Capability course textbook provided by training providers

It seems that training providers are providing the 'ITIL Intermediate Capability Handbook' for the capability module courses (SOA, PPO, RCV, and OSA), along with their own course notes.

Out of curiosity, why don't they provide the Lifecycle or the Key Element Guide (SS, SD, ST, SO, and CSI) related to their capability module course instead? Aren't these better than the handbooks?

    Hi joba19

The capability books are tailored to the syllabus specifically so this may be why some training organisations are handing them out. The core volumes cover a lot more material that may not be relevant for the course.

Core volumes would also add a lot of cost as each Capability course references two core volumes so it's good to give delegates a choice whether to purchase them or not.
