SANS work study
billyr2009
Hi All,
I have been accepted to a SANS Work study program in 2 months for AUD507: Auditing & Monitoring Networks, Perimeters & Systems ( the GSNA certification). I am going through the motion of getting the time off from work and what seeing if I can be off for the days of the course before I commit to the $900. I know this isn't for one of the sexier certs like GCIA, GPEN, or GCFA. But, I feel it will do me good since I have worked in auditing. Anyone have any advice on the training since this will be my first SANS training? Even negative reviews will work as I have said i am still making a final determination.

Well any discounted training is great training. That said i had an awesome time as a facilitator. Great instructors, great material. I would do it as often as i could if i was not fully employed.

I've facilitated numerous times and absolutely would again. Cheap(er) training and you'll meet great people.

Can't go wrong with any SANS training if doing work study. Although I didn't learn much new material in the one I did this year the experience is extremely rewarding. I say go for it and don't look back.

I facilitated for AUD 507 in October. Great experience & great class. Hope you found it just as rewarding.
