Post your SANS/GIAC study material recommendations here
I was going to include a section in this forum's FAQ sticky about SANS/GIAC certification study materials recommended by TE's members. But it occurred to me that such a list could grow to be quite large, and that topic really should have its own sticky. Because it will take me some time to sift through all 1000+ posts in…

SEC501 or 504?
I'm a newbie to cybersecurity and am currently getting my butt kicked by SEC401. I'm planning my next step and would like to know which I should take first: SEC501 or 504? Everyone seems to love 504, but 501 has wider topics and discusses intrusion detection and malware analysis. I'd eventually like to get into CTI hence…

SEC540 study approach
Just completed the SEC540 Cloud security and DevOps automation course. Passed GIAC GCLD
Hi all, Sat for GCLD yesterday as I am doing most of my work in the cloud these days. Got a 99, though that's more down to everything falling in place on the day more than anything else. A great course for anyone wanting to get their feet wet in regard to working in the cloud. Even though it is a "400" class, was not basic…

Any feedback on SEC599 (GDAT)?
As a pure DFIR, it was always intriguing to see how the otherside works. (I believe that's how the Red team feel about us too). Hello, I hope everyone is doing spectacular! For those who have taken the GCIA + lab portion (pass or fail): 1. Does a (ISC)2 certification count towards SANS renewal credits.
My GREM is needs to be renewed in Jan, 2021, but my companies training budget has been cut, it's unlikely I'll be able to take another SANS course to meet the CPE renewal requirements. Passed GSLC
This cert doesn't get enough recognition. There's a breath of useful material from the course that it compliments CISM quite well. Gcti / sans for 578
For anyone who has taken SANS FOR 578, Cyber Threat Intelligence... How tool centric is FOR 578? I just finished FOR 508 online, on-demand and it felt as if it were 75% tools, 25% or less concepts. There were 4 books (and a lab book --- book 5) for FOR 508. Tools seemed to make up almost all of 2 books, and 1/2 of the…

Ics515 (grid)

I haven't seen many reviews or posts on this, so I thought I would contribute something. On-demand is my training mode of choice, so I was not in a live classroom. GSE multiple choice test
I passed the multiple choice portion of the GSE today. The difficulty of this test is not what you would expect it to be. The exam is 150 questions that come from three exams you already passed. Passed GCPM
I passed the GCPM last week. This was my 11th GIAC exam and by far the toughest exam for me to study for. It's not that the test is difficult or the material is hard to understand. Without a doubt, this exam is challenging. I’m honestly surprised this exam doesn’t get talked about a lot. The course itself has so much useful material that it’s easy to overlook something. Passed GCWN
Passed the GCWN today. Overall I thought this class was excellent and I'm surprised there isn't more posts about it on this board. How are SANS 503 and SANS 572 different
Outside of the obvious - (one is built for Intrusion Analysts and the other is built for DFIR) - the details of each course look almost identical.
