Sorry if this been answered already, could not find answer anywhere on GIAC site or here, but when you renew your GIAC cert e.g. do the CPE's and pay the maintenance fee, do they send you a new certificate with the new expiration date? And once you get this new certificate can you use it is as CPE proof for another certification vendor like CompTIA ?

You need the official answer from GIAC for that. Please email info@giac.org or call +1 301-654-7267 for assistance.

I believe they send you new certificate with the updated date, but you can pay for a new certificate framed if you want. This is what i did. As the the CPE's, Each vendor has it own requirements for CPE credits, looking at the CompTAI website they will accept GIAC certifications as CPE credits, but can not be used more than once. So lets say you get your Secuirty+, use a GCIH to renew your security+ in three years, you can't used the same or a renewed GCIH when your security+ comes up for renewal in another 3 years.  Also note a GSEC isn't a valid certification type to renew a Security+, since they are pretty similar in material.
