Passed the test with a 96%. I really like the direction SANS is going in with their tests. I read the books 3 times and watched the videos twice. I created an index of every book except Book 6. I also created my own set of questions/flash cards during my second read through. I think that creating my own questions was pivotal to passing with a high score. I was able to answer most of the questions on the test without looking at my index. I used a time tracking app to keep track of how long it took to study for the test. All in all, it was over 200 hours over a span of 3 months.
During my study I also attended 3 classes from Black Hills Info Sec (John Strand's company). The classes had a ton of overlap with the 504 material (John was one of the author's for 504). I definitely recommend checking out their courses if you're looking for quality training for less than $400.
