ITIL Foundation 2011 Question

I am going to take my ITIL Foundation 2011 certification exam soon, but I was doing some reading and saw back on the ITIL V3 certification that in order to take the exam you needed "16.25 hours of accredited training". Does this also apply for the 2011 edition? In other words, for the 2011 will I have to get accredited training before I can even take the exam? No self study option?

I have access to this syllabus through my job resources, so I wonder if it would fall under the "accredited training"?

    Hi crobe

You can self-study for the ITIL Foundation exam - training is recommended but not mandatory. Depending on your budget there are lots of good books available or you can invest in an e-learning course that's tailored to the syllabus.

If you go on to intermediate level then accredited training is mandatory before taking an exam.

    Good luck!
