Will there be a new ITIL anytime soon ?

hey folks,

this might be a little strange or uninformed question, but, I was wondering will there be a new ITIL in 2015/16 ? From what I know (and it isn't much at all), ITIL V3 = 2011 syllabus. And if yes, what effect will that bring on the people holding V3 foundation cert ?

I haven't heard of any new ITIL exam, but your current cert of V3 doesn't expire. The only item is that you may want to upgrade to the 2011 version if you're looking at going further.

The current position is that ITIL 2011 is an update of ITIL v3, and there are no plans for a new version any time soon. Some additional complementary material might be added (for example Axelos the ITIL owner are publishing white papers like ITIL and DevOps).

The ITIL market is very big an any changes will need to have a long notice period so that people can plan their training accordingly.
