Passed GCIH...
Well another one down. Passed GCIH this morning after taking the On-Demand course in 1 week and 3 weeks to study the material. At the 90 question mark I had 94% and stopped using my index, ended up with an 86%. Guess I should have kept using the index...
Well on to my next On-Demand course SEC501 for the GSED certification. Once again I only have 1 month to take the course and study before the certification attempt.
I thought SEC 504 with John Strand in the On-Demand format was awesome. Labs were great, CTF is fun and you have to know the material for the exam. You definitely do not have time to look up most questions and even if you did you have to understand the material to answer the scenario based questions.
Would definitively recommend SEC504 for anyone thinking of taking it.

With the OnDemand you get access to lab??Completed: CISSP, GPEN, GWAPT, CCSA R80, eJPT, CySA+, M.S. Information Security
Current Goal: CCSE
Continuous Education Plan: AWS-SAA, OSCP, CISM
Book/CBT/Study Material: Max Power -

So unlike the 1 day final culmination event of live training you can go at it for 4 months.
I completed the CTF, but am still trying new methods and tools to recapture them. -

After looking at all of the courses available, I thought SEC501 would be a good continuation and more advanced study in all areas of security. I am looking at going into more of Security Management role and thought it would be a good course for that.
I plan on taking the GIAC PENTEST Postgraduate Certificate and that will include some of the other courses that were offered. -

I'm registered for the GCIH, but I may consider the On-Demand for my next SANS cert.
