Selected to facilitate FOR508

SEC503 was my first choice, but FOR508 does look interesting. I am a bit concerned about jumping into this course without having taken FOR408.

Have any of your skipped GCFE and went straight for GCFA?

Hey There! I have heard that there are a fair number of folks who do skip 408 and go straight on to 508, and I have heard mixed results. It's certainly possible to do 508 without 408, but it does add to the challenge. My work wanted to send me to 508, but decided it was best to do 408 first.

    @ ramrunner800 - How was 408?

@ iBrokeIT - Anaheim if I get approval from my bosses (wife and CISO).

    Good luck mate

Don't know why I never get selected to facilitate any of the SANS course...any idea what their selection criteria might be?

UnixGuy - Me too! Maybe the competition is too much in Australia. There is a general priority list. People that have attended courses before / have giac certs / been a mentor and other stuff and to those that have done the work study before. I have been trying to get onto one this year. Need it to recertify another. Thought it would be better to do another course rather than just recertify. And a trip to sunny Sydney/Melbourne would be nice too.
