SANS training - which course?
lewis2018
Hi All,
I’ve been offered the chance to do some SANs courses through work.
Im particularly interested in becoming a security/cyber architect later in my career. Are there any courses from SANs which will help me on my way?
Thanks in advance

I'd check out their road map if you haven't already.

SEC530 (

) might be a good course for you to take, but I don't know what your background currently is. Have you taken any SANS courses before?

What is your current skill level? Are you a more junior or senior level employee? What certs do you already have? What are your daily job duties? There are a ton of SANS courses and to determine the most useful courses, you need to assess where you are now, what courses you could skip based on previous knowledge, etc.
Architects are some of the most knowledgeable people in an organization. You will be expected to know a wide range of topics. It will be a good idea to start with a course that will enhance your current job duties.
Here is a roadmap of SANS courses:

I currently work as a cyber security engineer, i would rate my experience as intermediate. Daily duties cover a range of things from new network designs, security device administration/ configuration and other sys admin type work
I have no SANs certs so far
As for certifications i have CCNA R+S, MCSA 2016, Sec+, PenTest+, Linux+ and ITILv3
I like the look of that

Good deal. I say go for it then, especially if your company is willing to pay for the training.
