Hiring Managers: University of Phoenix

Question to those of you who are (or have been) an active participant in the hiring process at your local IT company. What do you think when you see a resume come across your desk with a degree from the University of Phoenix?

I've heard some former acquaintances in different industries that said they generally stay away from UOP graduates. The general impression is that because UOP is a for-profit institute it tends to push students along. They mention that a good percentage of the course work is team based and designed to help carry students along who normally might not pass the class.

What's the general opinion on the board towards UOP?

Funny. Does UOP have an actual graduation ceremony people can attend? I know WGU has one but you would have to travel to Salt Lake City, Utah to attend. I watched one of their commencement exercises and they actually had a large number of attendees. With all of the discounts WGU gets for hotel packages and such for their graduates I might consider attending if I can get off work. If I have to actually use vacation time I'll probably just get my diploma in the mail like a lot of other on-line graduates.

I tried watching her show once and couldn't take more than 5 minutes of it. She has been in a lot of movies and was in several very short lived sitcoms. Unfortunately she made the CHOICE to do a really poor excuse for a talk show.
