Post Foundation Testing Requirements?

Hi, I received my ITIL v3 Foundation cert last year and now am looking at Intermediate certifications. Is it manadatory to complete an appropriate training course to qualify for the tests? According to several websites I think so. My company offered free Foundation training, but nothing beyond. They may reimburse third party training for Intermediate training, but I really just want the lowest cost option, again and only if training is required for taking the exam.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

You're quite correct - the accreditor has stipulated that delegates must take an accredited training course in order to present for an intermediate exam.
There are a number of options - classroom, online, blended - you will probably find online is the cheapest. There are many providers and various options depending if you're looking to take a single intermediate or go all the way to Expert level.
When comparing prices, check if the exam or core volume are included, the length of time you have access to the course and the quality of tutor support offered.
Kind regards
