I guess it depends on what area or telecommunications you're in. telecommunications certifications - Google Search turns up a few options but you would probably want to check with someone who works in the particular market you're entering. This is our world now... the world of the electron and the switch, the
beauty of the baud. -

i have made a lot of research, but unfortunately i didn't end up with something useful... -
mgates67 Member Posts: 55 ■■■□□□□□□□Some of the IT certifications are relevant to the telecommunications field. Telecommunications is evolving from the traditional circuit switched TDM world and moving into the packet switched world of IP. I'm sure you've heard of VoIP. While TDM won't disappear over night (or any time soon, for that matter) you will need to look at VoIP to keep current. To understand how VoIP works on an IP network, you should have at least a fundamental understanding of routing and switching.
That makes CCENT, CCNA, and CCNA: Voice relevant. CompTIA has CTP+ but that certification is not being offered after the end of this year. There are rumors of them introducing another one, but only time will tell. Also, check out these guys: SIP Training and SSCA Certification for their SSCA (SIP) certification. SIP is the dominant VoIP protocol in use today. -

Well thank you for your information...
I agree with you that information about VoIP or CCNA related fields is useful anyway, and could be critical if am willing to pursue my education as a network engineer...
But for me I like telecommunication field " Modulation techniques, Channel simulating, cellular network planning....etc " and those related fields which unfortunately don't have certifications"else for professionals" that could improve my CV as in Network world "CISCO, Microsoft ... etc". -
filkenjitsu Member Posts: 564 ■■■■□□□□□□I work for a wireleas telecommunications company as a Data Network Engineer. Prior to that I was a Technical Support Engineer supporting Ericsson/Nortel, Nokia Semens Networks, Alcatel-Lucent, and Aviat equipment. Now I support cellsite routers and IP backahul for 2G/3G/4G networks. The biggest telecommunications vendor right now (much bigger than Cisco) is Ericsson. After that you have Huawei (waah way), Alcatel-Lucent, ZTE, Nokia Semens Networks (who merged with Motorola Networks) and some others. In telecommunications work, the CCNA is highly regarded as it prepares candidates for IP work, it should be the first cert you seek. Alcatel-Lucent is almost exclusively having their routers used in telecom environments and tons of service providers (cable, wireless, cellular, and fiber/backhaul/CLEC/ILEC). Alcatel-Lucent has the NRS certifications that are great but should only be considered once you have your CCNA. I am not sure that Ericsson has any certifications, but I heard Nokia Semens Networks and Huawei are coming up with certifications, but study materials may be sparse.CISSP, CCNA SP

Yup. Unless you work for one of the partners or have a scholarship than you are forking out way too much cash IMO. I only dropped the link because it seemed relevant to the question. -

[h=1]Nokia Siemens Networks launches LTE solution certification program #MWC11[/h]
Mobile World Congress 2011, Barcelona, Spain – 9 February 2011
Operators, channel partners to benefit from comprehensive, standardized approach to end-to-end LTE solutions in multi-vendor environments
Nokia Siemens Networks has launched a training and certification program to provide a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end Long Term Evolution (LTE) solutions in multi-vendor environments. The company aims to roll out the program to customers and third party IT professionals in the second quarter of 2011. In the first two months of its rollout within the company, hundreds of Nokia Siemens Networks engineers and sales people have been certified. Examinations are conducted by industry-leading, independent test centers to verify the LTE expertise achieved. The company expects to increase its number of certified employees to 4,500 by the end of 2011.
“This program has been designed to provide a reliable, valid and fair method of improving and assessing an individual’s skills and knowledge on end-to-end LTE solutions,” said Joseluis Garcia, head of business development at Nokia Siemens Networks. “At the same time, we realize that complex LTE solutions, customized for specific requirements, can only be designed and built in close cooperation with vendors like us and experts from the industry at large.”
“We seek to develop a community of highly skilled, certified professionals by providing people across the industry with the business, strategic and technical understanding of the challenges operators face in dedicated technology areas, such as IP or LTE. For operators, it means faster implementation and time to launch with LTE solutions that fit their needs,” Garcia said.
Nokia Siemens Networks offers four levels of accreditation within the LTE solution certification program - Associate, Specialist, Professional and Expert. Preparation for these certification levels is supported by Nokia Siemens Networks’ Academy* by offering a range of approaches to learning ranging from class-room sessions to e-learning and mobile learning units.
