Wouldn't you just snap them all in half? That'd give you 12 equal pieces and the exact amount needed for 4 triangles -

Yeah, that would work, as long as you're allowed to break the sticks. Not sure if you are (this interview was quite a while back for me so I don't remember exactly the parameters). But there's also a way to do it without breaking the sticks. -

There is at least 3 ways to do it I've seen. 2 with overlapping and 1 with going 3D. There are probably more... -

I got the job but the company was even weirder to work for than it seemed.

My sister used to sing that with her friends.
Any time a job description contains the words "fast paced environment", I know it is not a job for me. I spent 4 years in Desktop Support, and fast paced was never a part of our work ethic. -

I guess employers have to ask these really dumb question to weed out those who are dumping interviews.
