Passed Sec+ 813 score

Been a long time lurker of this forum and decided to join to help others.

Just today I passed the Sec+ and took the whole time allotted.

Here is what helped me pass and hopefully others.

Professor Messer Videos and $10 sheet- Listened at least 3 times. Played nonstop, played at night sleeping, at work, and driving.
Darrel Gibson Premium and book- Practice tests were ok. the content is good for the price.

I spent 9 days preparing and got an 813 score.

My background includes 2 years of server infrastructure so I had experience and knew concepts around 70% of the material.

Advice - I put this as a priority with about 1 hour of actual reviewing the book for concepts around hashing, encryption and other various concepts so it is definitely doable for an entry level with a month of review. Listening to Prof. Messer over and over really helped. Also watching his study group series right before the test.

Congratulations and thanks for the tips!

What would you recommend for someone who has 0% knowledge on the subject matter instead of 70% knowledge like yourself?

Study for 3 months instead of 1? Or was it somewhat easy to remember/learn.

If you have 0 knowledge, I would want to gauge how serious you are to obtain it. The material from the sources listed is more than enough. If you are able to spend 2 hours/day than 1 month is still a good timeframe. I would like to think I retain knowledge fairly well, but I do like to immediately take the test at the end of my study plan. One thing that helps for me, is to schedule the exam for a certain date and that's your agreement to yourself.

Plan on doing the Net+ on Aug 2nd and after that will being doing 70-410 70-411 70-461 70-462 to dual obtain MCSA Server & SQL 2012 by year end
