Gmail job scam

So I just wanted to see if anyone else has gotten this... When you apply for a job on a job site I have been getting these emails at least 6 times a day... here is a excerpt from the email.

Your resume has been reviewed by our HR Department for the position and we believe you are capable of handling this position based on your resume. Your details has been forwarded to Mrs.LaShawn Ashley (Hiring Manager). She would be conducting an online interview with you to discuss the Job Details, Pay Scale and Benefits, etc.

You are required to set up a Gmail account on ( https://www.gmail.com/intl/en/mail/help/about.html ) and download the Google Hangout App on (http://www.google.com/hangouts/ ) ..After this process, you are to add Mrs. LaShawn Ashley on Google Hangout ..here is the ID (lashawnas007@gmail.com) you are to Hang out her by tomorrow for an online interview/briefing exercise. She will be online waiting to talk to you by then..you can email her on {lashawnas007@gmail.com},

The schedule time for the interview/briefing exercise hold TOMORROW 8am your time . You are to be available on Google Hangout for the interview, your swift and timely response at the given time matters a lot to this position as the job starts ASAP.

Your verification code is MkL6105,this would serve as your identification number throughout the online hiring process .

Then on top of that... they will send you a text message and spam that. What I usually do is act like im ordering a pizza and they usually leave me alone

I get these quite frequently(though I never get a text). They are indeed phishing/spam of some sort. I haven't really investigated how they fish your information but it seems prevalent. Its truly unfortunate, because I can imagine this being successful as it preys on susceptible people looking for employment.

I talked with one today actually... it was almost like a interview but then they wanted the name of my bank, and this info

I get a email and a text afterwards... the text tells me to go to google and create a gmail email then add a person on google hangouts. Then they will discuss a position with me. What is funny though, I never get the company they are from...

What I found funny about it is they asked me to create a hangouts account but then set the "Venue" as "yahoo IM"

My guess would be when you get hired they will want your name, address, social security number, checking account numbers for your direct deposit, pretty much everything needed to steal your identity and empty your bank accounts.

On a side note, if you can scam a computer security professional, I bet there's a "Scammers Hall of Fame" somewhere on the internet to recognize the best of the best scammers. I wonder is there's a industry conference they attend, or at least an awards dinner.
