There isn't much love for Cloud currently on TechExams, but I am taking the beta exam in January.

I am also thinking of the samething as I work as Cloud Security Analyst now. I just wonder if there will be any ROI from it.

Do you have any study material?icon_confused.gif:

acloud.guru has a video course for it. I plan on going for my CCSP next year, but my company doesn't utilize AWS so will probably be passing on this one. Best of luck!

Thanks for sharing. I need to get up to speed with AWS because it's heavily used where I work and I'm clueless.

I work as a Cloud Security Architect and I have all three of the AWS associate level certs, I'm definitely interested in taking this one. Next on my list are CCSP and CCSK, but I may want try to squeeze this beta in just to see what the questions are like.
CISSP, CCSP, CCSK, Sec+, AWS CSA/Developer/Sysops Admin Associate, AWS CSA Pro, AWS Security - Specialty, ITILv3, Scrummaster, MS, BS, AS, my head hurts.

I am moving to a Cloud Security Architect position in 2 weeks. I am currently studying CCSP. I think if you are planning to take the exam down the road - this is your best bet. You can take the beta for half the price and receive a voucher for a year if you fail the beta exam.

Interesting, didn't see that part when I first looked at it. hmmmm tempting

I don't think AWS is publicly announcing the free voucher but when you go to register for the exam it states:
AWS uses beta exams to validate new exam content. Beta exams offer more time and contain more questions than live exams. You can expect to receive your exam results in late March 2017. If you pass the beta exam, you will achieve your AWS Certification. If you do not pass the beta exam, you will receive a free voucher (valid for one year) to take the live exam version.

    Thanks for the heads up!

Any idea if you're allowed to take the exam if you don't meet the prereqs (for instance I don't have any of the AWS associate level certs)?
    Certs: CISSP, CISA, PMP

You more than likely will be lost on it if you haven't met those prereqs.

The exam will be greyed out and you will not be able to register without meeting the prereqs.

    @Remedy:

The AWS Technical Essentials is a one day instructor-led training right?

You reckon I can just self-study for it?

I think this will be a worthwhile certification here soon at least within DoD IT as the AWS GovCloud becomes more widely utilized.

I don't know since I have never taken the technical essentials portion. However, there are other self-paced labs on there that can be taken that fit your interest.

I did the exam on the 28th of November at re:Invent and I think you guys have it all figured out icon_smile.gif

The exam is a 3-hour exam and is slightly out of date as the questions have been written over the course of a year.

Mike Chambers (A Cloud Guru Trainer) has started a course and is now available as a beta launch. Also Adrian Cantrill wrote a blog at https://read.acloud.guru/passing-the-aws-certified-security-specialty-exam-bcc5c160ae62 about his experience of the exam.

Happy to answer any other questions if you have!

    Cheers
