Agreed. The exam was pretty time consuming, it really came down to the wire for me on this one. I think I did pretty well, but I wasn't as confident on a few of the simulations, I felt as if I needed way more time to think some of them through, let alone do a proper check through. There were a few multiple choice questions that I was completely unsure about, but that could be due to my relative lack of experience with cloud when compared to some others on this thread. Definitely anxious to see the results.

I didn't expect it to be ~3 hours. Or for me to need the entire time.
Skipped the simulation questions because I was drained and had somewhere to be. Spent only about 2 days after work studying for the exam, and I think I passed (unless the simulations cost me that much). But it's definitely a difficult exam.

I did have one question (won't give any specifics) that I thought was very, very AWS specific, even tho the question made it seem like it was general to all cloud platforms. And maybe 2 questions that didn't make sense. Other than that, seems like it could be a good exam. As I was taking it, I thought of 2 people I'd recommend studying for and taking the exam.

I wonder how the Cloud Security Alliance certs compare to the CompTIA Cloud+.

News to me that you have to wait 2 months in order to receive a grade. I also want to make sure that if you do pass, you do become certified right?

CompTIA will correlate the results of the beta testers, and make alterations to questions based on that before launching the final product. Once they have the final product, they calculate everyone's results based on that scoring system they developed. That usually takes a few months. But yes, if you meet the cutting score, you become certified retroactive to the date you took the test.

Just got an email from CompTIA stating that October 27 is the last day to take the Beta exam. My date is October 13, and I'm nowhere near ready. I'm probably just going to have to let it go.

You paid for it already. You might as well sit for it.

Do you have any cloud experience? Use AWS, Azure, or GCP? If so, I think you'll be fine. The exam is kinda like a mixture of the Network+ and Security+ with a little bit of Cloud in it. I thought the same as you - I didn't study nearly enough and almost skipped it. However, I'm glad I did't, pass or fail. I ended up only getting a solid 2 days of studying in haha. But I think i passed to be honest. You have other certs and experience so I think you'll be fine too.

I'm still preparing for F5 303 and have MSc on my head, so not sure will have time to prepare.
I will decide close to final day. In worst case may reschedule and go unprepared

Thanks for the vote of confidence! My only knowledge of cloud computing is what I've picked up while studying for other certifications. When they announced the Cloud+ Beta, I started using the V1 objectives as my study guide until they posted the Beta objectives. No experience with deployment. It's not over yet. I'll have to think about it over the weekend. Honestly, I wasn't even planning to earn this certification at all. But when they announced the $50 Beta exam, I figured it would be a good idea.

Took the beta exam a few weeks ago, if you've been studying for AWS, this exam was a cake walk.

You really need to be familiar with cloud concepts and technologies and how they work as well as knowing migration strategies.

It was mostly AWS related terminology imho.

Went ahead and threw my hat into the ring. Will be taking on the 26th.

I've got very little Cloud experience. Printed out the objectives and guess I'll just see how much I can learn in two weeks. Might as well for $50 -- if nothing else, I'll have a go under my belt.

Can you please clarify exactly which AWS certification we are talking about ? , i am also scheduled on 24 for this exam

AWS CSA Associate probably.
Whereas the exam DID seem a bit AWS centric (I mentioned this in my post earlier as well) I don't know if studying for the AWS CSA would help you pass. It's more like, if you have AWS (or Azure/GCP, but to a lesser extent) experience already, the exam should be significantly easier. But if you don't, focus more on the actual Cloud+ objectives to get your pass.

I took it yesterday & it was more difficult than I was expecting. I probably didn't pass it, but won't know for a few months.

I thought I was going to get 205 mins for the exam per the Pearson VUE registration, however, when I started the exam it was only 165 mins for 113 questions. I basically ran out of time with the simulations/performance based questions (I always do them last) and didn't have time to submit the answers on 3-4 of them. If I would have had the 205 mins, I could have completed the entire test & possibly been able to review all my answers, but I would say at least 50% of the questions were very long & you had to re-read them to understand what answer they were wanting.

205 minutes on Pearson page includes time for survey at end and NDA/terms at start. 165 is what the blueprint calls for on the test itself.

I could have used 20 mins of that 40mins to finish those questions. It may have taken me maybe 5mins to read through the beginning of the exam & another 3mins to finish survey at the end. IMO

I agree, some of the sims were incredibly long, I didn't really get a chance to look/evaluate the simulations in depth, as I was so rushed for time just trying to complete the things. However, that may reflect my relative lack of experience with cloud compared to others. The multiple choice questions were also a bit wordier than usual for CompTIA, but they weren't unmanageable.

Just got out of the test... 100+ questions... probably the longest test yet for me. I didn't care much for the simulation and wording on some of the questions was in the COMPTIA fashion - confusing.

Just got out of the beta today 26 Oct and I think I failed. I will be shocked if I passed. The sims are insanely long, poorly worded and confusing as heck. The two screens back and forth and multiple configuration records to dig through was a nightmare to correlate all the info and make a quick decision. Great exam and I think that Comptia is trying up the difficulty of these exams from what I am seeing. Been doing Comptia Exams for 17 yrs now.

Also took it today and also feel the same way. Studied the original Cloud+ materials and felt like very little translated. It's one thing to make a test more difficult, it is another to pivot it into being a different test. It almost feels like this should be called the CSA+ for Cloud Systems Administrator.

Also felt the the answer ambiguity for quite a few of the questions was off the charts, even by CompTIA's normal standards.

I take mine tomorrow and have been watching the Pluralsight videos for Could+ v1. I printed out the objectives and will taking notes using that as a guide. Hopefully the objects document helps!

If you compare the objectives from the old test and new, they're completely different. Anyone going in just studying the old cloud+ material is most likely going to fail.

I think Comptia should revise the number of questions, 113+ question specially
with very long and time consuming 5+ simulation is too much , in my opinion
it shold be around 100 question (with 5 simulation)

You're certainly correct as I'm going to be proof of that... I know I bombed it. That said, I think CompTIA is suspect for how they marketed it via email:

Recommended experience level for Cloud+ beta exam takers:

CompTIA Network+ or Server+ or equivalent knowledge
Minimum of 2-3 years of hands on experience in a networking, storage or IT data center environment

Not sure I agree with their recommended experience. I've got 10+ years of hands-on networking experience but a networking skill set alone is not enough to pass that beta, at least based on the questions I received. But I digress and I'm not above failure... just throwing my feedback in here since others were discussing it.
