Microsoft offering the second try for free.

Hi guys,
Just want to find out if any of you had tried this promotion and how long it will last . So you buy the exam once from one of the vendors right which is Prometric and the other one and if you fail they will give me another try or you have to contact Microsoft about it ? How does it work .

Just put it in when you register at Prometric. It's good through next June.

I jumped on this, (thanks to one of your posts dynamic) and read through it, first thinking that I had to complete my exam by the end of the year, and so I did, but in actuality, you can take it later than that. You had to take it by the end of the year for the bonus % off the next one. But for the 2nd shot, you could take it Next (2009) year and be fine.

yeah, I had some confusion about that too, but the second shot offer is good for at least another few months. I think MS has seen some increase of test-taking rates, and so they might extend it again. I just wish you could use the second shot with a discount voucher...I can either save 15% with a discount code OR I can have a second shot for free, grr. I haven't taken any "hard" MS exams yet, but I've done well on my other exams so far and I'm not sure if I *need* the second shot for my next MS test (290).

Yeah they need to word that better, cause I was under the assumption that you needed to take your first test by dec. 31 2008. If this is wrong, and you guys are right, then I am saving it for the beast (70-291). That would be great to have a second shot retake chance for that test!

From what I gather, it looks like they extended it to June 30th, 2009. Enough time to get that MCSA.

hi i had this promotion but deal was that you have to take first exam till end of december 2008 and if you fail you can have 2nd chance for free till june 2009 or if you pass (which i did )you could some %off from next exam but you have to take it before end of feb 2009 (which i took and paid 35euro less

)
