Prometric cancellation question...

Might be a stupid question...so sorry in advance!

When you cancel a Prometric exam do they automatically refund your CC? I always assumed they did.

I'm wondering because I've seen a refund form on their site (found via Google) which has got me marginally worried.

I cancelled it four or five days in advance of the scheduled date.

did you buy a voucher, or did you pay directly on their site? I've only scheduled exams with vouchers, and as far as I know you don't get any money back on those - once they're bought & paid for, you OWN that thing and you can only cash in by using it or selling it to someone else.

Oh no, it was done via Credit Card.

They do not refund your money. Once you schedule an exam the money is gone. You can call them up and use the credit to reschedule the exam or schedule a different one.

They don't make it clear at all but I just rang them (was being lazy before) and checked and the refund on my Credit Card did automatically go through the day after I cancelled.

So their refund policy when scheduling the test is a bit off.

I've always just rescheduled them, never need to cancel. I assumed the same, if you cancelled then it would just add the funds back to the card you paid with.

Useful information, I'll try to remember this if a cancellation is required. I assume that you need to cancel within a set period for a a refund?

Yeah I usually reschedule as well but I've had to cancel this time around, unfortunately.

Isn't Prometric's policy you can reschedule upto 5pm or 6pm the day before the exam? I would assume it would be the same for cancellations but that would be just a guess.

I believe it's 24 hours notice. They want enough time to be able to allow someone else to take the time slot.

My experience is 24 hours notice and they re-credit the credit card without any issues.

In one case even after about 10 re-schedules over the space of a year (I over committed to a few too many exams!).

That sounds like me! I kept pushing 70-236 back for nearly a year, and had to end up cancelling it at the last minute because the registration is only good for a year

I made a mistake in using one of the vouchers to register for 70-351 instead of 70-350 i intend to write.
Can cancelling and rescheduling be allow on the voucher?

i ve posted a similar question to prometric for more than 7 days without response.

Prometric refuses to refund my test fee. When trying to register, Prometric wanted the credit card first. That was strange to me but surely they are a professional and ethical company so I didn't expect any issues. WRONG! After paying, they said no tests available. After trying for hours (literally hours) on the phone and emailing the refund link. They had the nerve to tell me "refund not available" test is good in six months and you can take it then. Six months?? I don't need the test in six months, I would NEVER have confirmed the purchase if I knew that but they took my money. I read the link they provided with that email and it said I could receive a full refund if I canceled 30 days before the test date. Seeing I obviously fell into this category, I requested a refund FOUR additional times explaining this...No response. I filed a complaint with them...No response. I am taking this to an outside agency now to see what I can do. People need to start filing with the BBB or other legal authorities against this company because I believe the way it operates is borderline fraudulent!
