MCDST to MCSA...?

I just passed 70-271 Saturday and I will be taking the 70-272 in 2 weeks. My understanding is that, if I take and pass 70-621, I only have to finish 70-290 and 70-291 to become a MCSA, or do I need to take 70-270 as well?

'Exam 70-621 : PRO: Upgrading Your MCDST Certification to MCITP Enterprise Support
Note If you have an MCDST, you can use Exam 70-621 toward certifications that list Exam 70-620 as a requirement (for example, MCTS on Windows Vista – Configuration).'

Use the Certification Planner in your MCP area, i think if you pass the 70-621 you don't need to do the 70-270 as they are both client exams however you would still need one elective exam.

Your right. If you complete the MCDST, 70-290, 70-291 and a client exam (either 70-270 or 70-621), you will complete the requirements for MCSA. I know this to be correct as that's what I did (I took the 70-270).

Yes, 621 will count anywhere you see 620. 621 seems to be the logical next-step for you.

you dont need an elective since the MCDST can be used to satisfy that. so if he takes the 621, 290 & 291, he'll be a MCSA
