Switch IOS for GNS3/Dynamips

I currently have a CCO access via cisco.com, does anyone knows what IOS supports switching l3/vtp/stp etc. etc., that I can mount on GNS3/Dynamips?

Dynamips does not emulate switches. You can use a switch module in a router, but I don't believe it supports everything needed to study for the exam. It will definitely have the older Vlan database commands that aren't tested on anymore also. Any fairly recent 3600 image should get you going with a ESW module.

Someone suggested an IOS that I can mount on one of the router in gns3/dynamips, this IOS is like a hybrid that does support switching technology, just don't remember it.

Dynamips only emulates certain Cisco routers. It doesn't do Cisco switches. The closest you can come to a switch is to do what networker050184 said and make a router with a NM-16ESW in it.

Thanks alot guys, I hope this is enough to finish ICND2 I've been putting it on hold for a long time... I still have the actual lab just to get real hands on...

Does anyone knows or tried to see if this emulators can interact with O.S. or real cisco appliance etc. etc. ?

Dynamips can tie into real equipment.

Dynamips will allow a switch module it supports some features but it definitely doesn't support all of them.

Just wanted to update my last post, the nm-16esw is very limited, alot of vtp commands is missing to play around with it, it doesn't even have a vlan database :P I wonder if I need a more powerful router to emulate.

I will try Adito VPN at home, so I can remote offsite, thanks for the help!!!

It does have a Vlan database so I'm not sure what you are missing there. How could it have Vlans without a database to store them in?

You will have to use different commands than what will be in the book which is why people suggest the use of 2950s. It can be quite confusing for someone that isn't used to the old style of configuration.

I was scratching my head there for a while until I figured out sh vlan-switch.

Someone suggested to use c3725-adventerprisek9-mz.124-15.T5.bin on a 3725 Router, I will give this a try.
