Class cancelled again. Which do you think i should take?

they just announced a vmware vsphere 4 class, so i think i might luck out and be able to take that. i figure pretty much any time anything vmware is offered, jump at it?

my other option is server 2008 troubleshooting

what do you guys think? everything's going the way of virtualization these days, right?

I would take the server 2008 troubleshooting if you can. I had networking at college, and didn't get near the time I wish had with servers.

You can always study and learn vmware on your own. Just my thoughts...

you're right.. i dont want to spread myself too thin. i need to get the mcitp over with and as much as taking a vmware class would be great, i can probably get by as i am right now.

Does the VCP 4 course count as an authorized VMWare course? If so, I would take the VCP class. VMWare requires that you attend an authorized course if you want to get your VCP certification.

VMware Education Services

The MCITP does not require an official course so you can pick that one up on your own.

So you have to take a class in order to be able to get the VCP? Bummer...

Yup, and like most official training it's not cheap, about $3000! A few schools are participating in the VMware IT Academy Program, and a few of those are offering the course that satisfies the VCP course requirement. Of these, some of them will be cheaper than a normal training provider, so it's a good option if you don't have an employer that will pay for the training.
