Which Books?

Which books do you all recommend for the Server Administrator certification? I think I'm going to go with the Measure Up practice exams instead of Transcender's.

I'm an MCP from 2005 but have been in the IT field for 12 years now. Looking to finally get my certs done.

Oh and also, I'm thinking of going the Server Administrator route so I can have the MCITP title and then pursuing the other 3 exams after that to get the Enterprise Administrator cert. Has anyone else done this?

I used the Microsoft Press Training Kit for 70-646. I was able to get a good score using that and the Measure UP exam that comes with it. As for the other exams that make up the Server Administrator MCITP, I would suggest the MS Press Training Kits that go with each test. I took the upgrade exam from 2003 to satisfy those exams.

I used the Sybex books for all the SA and EA exams except for 680 (the book wasn't released when I took it). I thought they were good, and I passed all the exams on the first attempt.

and resource kit (dont need to read it all but theres lots of relevant stuff in there which sometimes isnt covered in the exam books)

Hi! I recently have completed a mcitp sa via school of certification with a official microsoft books (blue moc books) and now i wanna continue my certification with the EA on my own but microsoft dont shell this books, only for official centers.
The training kit is sufficient for learning and exams or is there more books similar to the MS moc's that can help me with the whole process?

When a few of us were going through the upgrade from 2003 to 2008, the consensus was the 'Real' book was so terrible that the publisher should be investigated for their criminal slaughter of trees. A combination of the MS Training Kits for focused objectives and labs with Resource Kits and/or Technet articles for further depth should be all you need.

I would suggest Server 2008 R2 Unleashed from Sam's publishing. I used Server 2008 Unleashed for the EA exam back before the MS press books were published and loved it. Whatever you choose, though, you may not buy these books...
