Optionspitviper Member Posts: 1,376 ■■■■■■■□□□Are you looking for auto crossover detection (auto MDI/MDIX)?
If so, I honestly didn't notice it until the Cat 2960s were released. I don't think that it was supported on the 2950s (but could be wrong).CCNP:Collaboration, CCNP:R&S, CCNA:S, CCNA:V, CCNA, CCENT -

Optionstazdevil Member Posts: 55 ■■□□□□□□□□Yeah, I was weary too. I'll probably just make some crossovers.
Hmmm.. cisco shows the 2950 & 2924xl both autosensing so Im lost.
Release Notes for the Catalyst 2900XL and Catalyst 3500XL Switches, Cisco IOS Release 12.0(5)WC17 - Cisco Systems
Release Notes for the Catalyst 2955, Catalyst 2950, and Catalyst 2940 Switches, Cisco IOS Release 12.1(22)EA13 [Cisco Catalyst 2950 Series Switches] - Cisco Systems
My understanding is that the term "autosensing" is referring to 10/100 and not the auto mid-x, and from switch to switch would be cross over (like to like) need a cross over, and unlike to unlike a straight through would work is what I have learned in the Cisco world... My main home switches use auto mid-x.ICND1 - Passed March 19/2010
ICND2 - Passed April 8/2010 -

Autosensing = It will automatically select the required port speed and duplex.
Auto-MDIX = It will automatically do the crossover for you if necessary. -
Optionspitviper Member Posts: 1,376 ■■■■■■■□□□Easy to assume that it's supported - After all, $20 Netgear switches have had an auto uplink port for yearsCCNP:Collaboration, CCNP:R&S, CCNA:S, CCNA:V, CCNA, CCENT
