So my question is that if I want to configure this access point through GUI,
do I need to maybe update my ios? or it's not supported on this AP?

Also where can I find information on configurting this AP through CLI?

If you need or want to upgrade your AP IOS, you should still be able to do it with a guest level Cisco CCO Account.

You can find the configuration steps (GUI and/or CLI) in the Configuration Guide for your IOS version.

Here's a link to a recent version: Cisco IOS Software Configuration Guide for Cisco Aironet Access Points, 12.4(3g)JA & 12.3( 8 )JEB - Chapter 4 - Configuring the Access Point for the First Time [Cisco Aironet 1200 Series] - Cisco Systems

I see the following screen when I access AP.

BTW how do I upgrade IOS? on AP?
unlike routers, there are many sub-directories and files!

    What do I do?

    Thanks.

You're missing the files for the web GUI. They're packaged together with the upgrade files from CCO. The documentation will tell you how to extract the tar files.

Would you please give me more detail as far as how to upload html files?

when I do "dir" under c1200-k9w7-mx.122-11.JA3 directory and html folder ,
I see all the files. and how come it's not showing?

basically I did "dir" and the output was
    ap#dir
    Directory of flash:/

    2 -rwx 688 Mar 01 1993 00:03:02 env_vars
    153 drwx 256 Mar 01 1993 00:00:45 c1200-k9w7-mx.122-11.JA3
    3 -rwx 1318 Mar 01 1993 00:53:12 config.txt
    4 -rwx 3068020 Mar 01 1993 00:18:54 c1200-k9w7-mx.122-15.JA
    5 -rwx 5 Mar 01 1993 00:53:12 private-config

7741440 bytes total (3886592 bytes free)

Well, since I do not have the cisco account, I cannot log in to download the ios!

I just need instruction to update the ios and html files please (without logging into
    Cisco account!)

I should be able to find files online. I just need instruction please!

This AP's ios and html files upgrade is not like the old routers I used to upgrade.
This is not one file anymore. These IOS is in tar files. icon_sad.gif

Please Mr. Cisco gurus, Direct me to website! I need instruction on how to upgrade
the ios and html files so I can configure this AP please. Also is there any way to configure them in CLI instead through GUI in case, I don't get to upgrade them.

    Thank you in advance.

You've got two different versions on there. 12.2.11JA3 has the HTML files but 12.2.15JA only has the IOS binary file. Your AP is using 12.2.15JA.

Create a guest account. You don't need a SMARTnet contract for AP IOS files.

mikej412 linked to the documentation. It is under the Managing Firmware and Configurations section.
