It's not that hard. One year, I regifted a gift card I got from work to my parents. It was for $250 bucks (I had to work the night of the xmas party, so the company made it up to me). It was for restaurants I normally don't eat at, and I figured it was xmas on the cheap, so hey.

When they went to use it, they thought they were being conservative, but they still had a very nice meal, just the two of them, and there was like 10 bucks left. They knew they werent coming back, so they ordered a bottle of champagne to take with them to finish off the card and paid the difference. With the overage they paid, plus the tip, plus gas, they were well over 300 bucks.

Then there's other extreme.... the year after, I did go to the christmas party. After the party proper, the owner got some buses and we went to a very nice nightclub, and he ordered bottle service. The price of that alone made me choke

$150 for two vouchers, used library for books, ~$15 gas money. Yep, use to spend more than that going out.

$300 is a drop in the bucket if you're out clubbing in Manhattan. I easily spent that much and can relate to Jim even though I'm now Joe...lol.
