Security + recommended books

Hi All,

I am going to start preparing for my Security + certification and would like to know the name of the books that I can use to prepare and understand the concepts covered under Security + certification.

I would really appreciate if someone could guide me in preparing for Security + certification.

I need to buy a book asap to start my preparation so prompt response would be really appreciated.

Darril's book is the Holy Grail of Sec+. Some people use the Sybex book (Amazon.com: CompTIA Security+ Deluxe Study Guide: SY0-201) but it's really overkill.

I would also recommend Darril's book. No offense intended to the person(s) who made the practice tests on this forum, but in regards to the actual test, most of the questions are pretty irrelevant.

Overkill huh? Yeah I bought the Sybex book - I like that its comprehensive - but it's nice to hear it's overkill because that would seem to indicate if I perform well on the practice tests in the book I'll pass no problem

I used ExamCram's Security+. Studied for a week and then took the test.

Although i am yet to sit the exam, i have found it extremely easy to read, and very easy to loose track of time when reading..
