Sybex CEH Study Guide

I know it shouldnt be the primary study resource, but just wondering, how do the Graves study and review guides for the CEH compare to the exam? Is the exam software worth using?

Have you gathered your study material? My nmap book came in the mail today and my CEH guide should be here tomorrow.

I'm halfway through the sybex book and it feels more like an introduction than and all in one resource. Of course, after studying for the cissp with the AIO book I guess anything less than 1100 pages will feel a little light and underwhelming.

I'm also reading through the Build your own security lab book by michael gregg which is almost a complete overlap of the sybex book. I was curious about the exam cram book because it earned some good reviews on amazon as a prep source however it's from 2006 so maybe it's a bit dated?

Most threads I see here have people reading in between 3-5 books to prepare for v6 CEH, and something is generally still missed. At this point I am primarily using CBT/Sybex Study Guide. Reading another book will almost certainly push my test date to March which is unacceptable with my work schedule, and anything later would push me to take v7.

I also have Hacking Exposed 6 and Hacking for dummies, but they are staying in the closet unless they are needed FTM.

Interesting lists...I will probably study some of these books but I dont think I'll get certified anytime soon (or ever)

My CEH Study guide finally arrived from Amazon, Just from a quick glance, this book does seem a bit light. I can just tell this isn't going to be enough for the test. I have every book Rouge has plus Network Security Bible and the Wireshark Book. I think I should be able to cover all the material for the exam.

I'm a little disappointed that the first thing I saw was about Windows 2000 passwords

WTF how does this help me with modern systems lol. Oh well, its just a test.

You would be surprised how many of those systems there are out there. At the same time though you have to understand enough about code or scripts to be able to read it.
