SQOTD - Called Part Number Plan & Type

If you didnt get it, SQOTD is Stupid Question of the Day.

If someone could provide some insight into this, I would greatly appreciate it:

I'm battling with a PRI provider soon and we are testing the T1. I am trying to confirm that I am sending the information marked as they want, but I can't find a way to do that. It seems no matter what I change in the Route Pattern or Gateway, I always end up with this:

EDIT: This is a q931 debug output snip.

Calling Party Number i = 0x2181, '281xxxxxxx'
                Plan:ISDN, Type:National
Called Party Number i = 0x80, '1337xxxxxxx'
                [B]Plan:Unknown, Type:Unknown[/B]

Am I missing something obvious? Is there a trump card in call routing that I may have overlooked? I assume (and we all know what ass-u-me means) that this would change as the called party settings change from the route pattern. Well, its not. Whats up with that?

Any insight or obvious laughing's of my failures would greatly help!

You are running MGCP correct? I can add some stuff later, I'm tied down right now

Is this router or CM based?

if router, what do the outgoing translation-profiles and the associated translation rules look like?

Maybe something like this. ( I did this from memory. Rack is powered down and resting while I start studying ROUTE)

voice translation-rule 1001
rule 2 /^1/ /&/ plan any isdn  type any national
rule 1 /^.*/ /&/ plan any isdn type any subscriber
 
voice translation-profile PSTN_OUT
translate called 1001
 
voice-port */*/*:23
translation-profile outgoing PSTN_OUT

Or something like that ...

Sorry, it is an MGCP gateway so the translations are all configured through the CUCM GUI.

I just fired up my lab. I am running CUCM 7 amd I'm still trying to learn and get mine set up.

What does your provider expect to see for called Plan and Type?

looks like one of the ways to do this is:
Call Routing> Transformation Pattern> Called Party Transformation Pattern

Under the gateway selection go down to Call routing information outbound calls.

"Called party IE number type unknown

" You have that set to Unknown more than likely. So you want to set that to whatever your provider is looking for. I'm not to sure why you are having problems with unknown. The only time you get problems out of the service provider is when they want International numbers..

Roger that, I am aware of that setting. I was playing with those and the route patterns all day and when I made changes, I was not seeing any kind of change from the debug. Maybe I missed something.

As it turns out, the issue was on their end. I had everything configured properly (and marked properly, including international).

Does the gateway configs overwrite the settings in the route patterns? I don't have it in front of me, but I have the same options for outgoing call marking on both, I believe.

Negative. We have an ISDN T1 test set that we are trying out, I think I'm going to plug it in and see if I can't see it being marked on there.
