Is this a good path for me? [Networking]

I am about to get an A.S in Networking, in June.
I already have A+

My plan is to take CCENT by June.

A.S. in Networking, CCENT and A+ are they good enough to get my foot in the door? Even if its help desk while I work on my B.S.

By end of the year My goal is to get CCENT/CCNA, Sec+ and MCITP.

My B.S should be done by end of 2012, and I want to have 1 year of experience in the IT field before I graduate.

Seems like some good goals you have there. I especially like how you have set a goal to have experience in the IT field BEFORE you graduate. I've seen far too many college grads who have absolutely no IT work experience flounder after graduation.

True, one thing I learned from my professors and associates in the field is that experience is most important.

But are A.S. in Networking, CCENT and A+ are they good enough to get my foot in the door?

I also will be attending Army's residential IT Specialist school for the Reserves, and sent my application out to Staples and Geek Squad so far.

Well, I got my foot in the door with lesser qualifications. I certainly think you have a good chance.

About the minimum you need for the low end (slash your wrist with a spork if you do it for more than a year) type of help desk job is some enthusium and people skills.

With a (networking) degree and some (networking) certifications you want to target a NOC job, rack 'n stack, or at least a help desk position at a company with room for growth (and hope for a promotion within 6 months).
